A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT–NOVEMBER 2021

As I reflect on the things I’m thankful for this November, first to my mind is our tremendous board of directors who have worked incredibly hard this year to provide engaging programs, professional development, and networking opportunities to our members—despite the uncertainty surrounding a global pandemic. We had engaging, thought-provoking programs all year long—even though we couldn’t meet in person. We held small group member meetups so we could stay in touch and we kept the conversation about diversity and inclusion top of mind with blog posts and social media content. I’m honored that our chapter was recognized in first place for the 2021 PRSA D&I Chapter Awards last month.

We sent our annual PRSA Orlando member survey last week and I hope you will take a moment to share your input with us. Your answers will help lay the foundation for our strategic planning for 2022.

I’m looking forward to honoring several of our chapter members at our first-ever Chapter Recognition Awards Gala and Annual Meeting on Wednesday, November 10 where we will recognize and honor those who have left a lasting footprint on our chapter and community and elect our 2022 board of directors. I cannot think of a better way to kick off our return to in-person programming than with a gala! I hope to see you there—registration is open until Sunday, November 7.

Be well & keep shining!

Stefanie Macfarlane, APR
