A Letter from the President | November 2025

Dear PRSA Orlando,

The year is winding down, the weather is (finally!) getting cooler, and we’re entering a season of gratitude.

As I reflect on this year, I want to take a moment to thank our 2025 Board of Directors for everything you’ve done to keep our chapter running strong. From scheduling newsletters and social media posts, to securing monthly speakers, working the check-in desk, leading APR workshops, retaining members, making sure our finances are in check — and everything in between — I am truly grateful for your dedication, time, and heart.

October was a big month for our chapter! PRSA Orlando was honored to receive third place in PRSA’s DEI Chapter Awards, which I had the privilege of accepting on behalf of the chapter during PRSA ICON 2025 in Washington, D.C.

Our chapter has a strong history of recognition in this category — earning first place in 2021 and second place in 2019. This year, we continued to make diversity, equity, and inclusion a cornerstone of our programming. From events celebrating Women’s History Month, AANHPI Heritage Month, and Hispanic Heritage Month to blogs exploring topics such as embedding inclusion into every stage of PR, supporting veterans through communications, reaching Deaf audiences, and creating inclusive messaging for neurodivergent audiences — DEI remains at the heart of everything we do.

Now, we’re counting down to the event we’ve all been waiting for — the 2025 PRSA Orlando Chapter Recognition Awards Gala & Annual Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Rice Family Pavilion. It will be an evening of celebration and entertainment as we recognize our chapter’s outstanding professionals and confirm the 2026 board.

Registration closes Nov. 12 — we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

And in case you missed the exciting announcement — PRSA ICON 2026 is coming to Orlando! 🌟 Mark your calendars for Oct. 18–20, 2026, at the Orlando World Center Marriott. Registration is now open, and rates will increase on Dec. 31, so don’t wait to lock in your spot (and your hotel room!) for what’s sure to be an unforgettable experience right here in our backyard.

Warm regards,

Verónica Figueroa, APR
