A Letter from the President | October 2025

Dear PRSA Orlando, 

As we enter October, I’m excited to share the incredible opportunities ahead for our members this fall.

First, don’t miss our final monthly program of the year on Thursday, Oct. 23. We’ll hear from U.S. Navy veteran and Disney Communications leader Cappy Surette, who will share how Disney has honored service members, veterans, and their families both within the company and in the community for more than a century.

And let’s give it up for our 2025 Programming Chairs — Nadia Vanderhoof, Melissa Zayas Moreno, APR, and Joshua Higgins. Month after month, they’ve knocked it out of the park, bringing us world-class programming that makes our chapter shine. This upcoming monthly program is your last chance to experience their greatness this year, so join us in giving them a much-deserved round of applause!

Next, mark your calendars for our biggest celebration of the year: the 2025 PRSA Orlando Chapter Recognition Awards Gala & Annual Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Rice Family Pavilion. It will be an evening of celebration and entertainment as we recognize our chapter’s outstanding professionals and confirm the 2026 board. We’ll also be treated to a special performance by Aysima Anik, a classically trained violinist who has performed across Europe and now shares her talents in Central Florida.

One final thought… Technically, Hispanic Heritage Month doesn’t end until Oct. 15, so I have to ask — how are we all feeling about Bad Bunny headlining the Super Bowl halftime show next year? You don’t have to ask me — I’m sat with my pava on. 😉
