A Letter from the President | April 2022

From the President’s Desk
A message from Wendy J. Roundtree, APR
Though it is something we celebrate and honor year round, April is APR month!
The Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential is our profession’s only national post-graduate certification program. Since it was established in 1964, thousands of PR and communications professionals have earned this designation.

And right here in Central Florida, our chapter is proud to boast one of the largest numbers of APRs with nearly 70 accredited members.

“But Wendy, what’s the point?”

As an avid believer of lifelong learning, earning the APR is about personal and professional development. It is a transformational process that elevates your approach from that of a tactician to a strategist.

Simply put, earning an APR is about the pursuit of excellence.

This month, we will conclude our spring information sessions, but please connect with one of our APR Co-Chairs if you have any questions. Dates for our fall session will be released in the coming months.

In other very exciting news, we’ve got a FULL lineup of events over the next several weeks. Whether you plan to join us for our monthly breakfast, member mixer or blueberry picking at the farm, I look forward to seeing you. As always, if you have any ideas or thoughts about how we can better serve you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your support of PRSA Orlando!
