A Letter from the President | April 2025
Dear PRSA Orlando,
Are you still buzzing from last month’s incredible Women’s History Month panel, Central Florida PR Power Players, or is it just me? If you missed it, don’t worry — we’ve got you covered! Check out our recap blog for key insights from our inspiring panelists.
Looking ahead to April, our chapter has a busy and exciting month ahead, filled with opportunities to connect, learn and give back:
- April 11 – PR Paid Forward: We’re excited to once again partner with FPRA Orlando to provide Central Florida nonprofits with valuable real-world insights from PR professionals like you. Plus, don’t miss keynote speaker Chauniqua Major, Communications Manager at Lift Orlando, as she shares insights on communicating with dignity. A huge thank you to our Platinum Partner, Rollins College, for helping make this event a success.
- April 24 – Communicating Community Impact with Maritza Martinez: Join us for a conversation with Maritza Martinez, VP of External Affairs and Philanthropy at the Orlando Magic, as we explore the role of public relations in shaping corporate social responsibility and community engagement.
- April 26 – Family Day at the Farm: Bring your loved ones and enjoy a fun, family-friendly day outdoors while supporting local agriculture. Special thanks to our Silver Partner, the Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association, for its continued support of this event.
With so much happening (and a successful Q1 behind us!), I want to take a moment to recognize our incredible board members and their committee members. Each month, they dedicate their time and talent to ensuring our chapter thrives. Their efforts often happen behind the scenes, but their impact is felt by all of us.
Before I sign off, be sure to keep reading our newsletter to learn more about the PRSA Orlando PRosperity Grant and the #SunCon25 grant application. Our chapter is committed to giving back to its members, so be sure to learn more about these great opportunities!
I hope to see you at one (or all!) of our events this month. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Warm regards,
Verónica Figueroa, APR
