The opening of the Orlando Station will revolutionize how travelers get around Florida. Katie will share lessons learned and PR tips for launching this historic initiative. About Our Speaker: Katie Mitzner, Director of Public Affairs, Brightline

Katie Mitzner is Director of Public Affairs for Brightline, the first privately funded passenger rail system in America in over a century. Brightline is designed to reinvent travel and take cars off the road by connecting city pairs and congested corridors that are too close to fly and too long to drive.

Over the past four years, Mitzner led Brightline’s public affairs efforts for the Orlando extension project, a 2.7B investment that spanned 168-miles from West Palm Beach to Orlando International Airport. Brightline’s service to Orlando opened on September 22nd!

Katie has spent more than twenty years in the communications industry. Prior to Brightline, Katie worked in public relations for Florida’s Turnpike and Orlando Health. Katie began her career as a television news reporter, spending 10 years in the news industry in Lansing and Flint Michigan and Little Rock, Arkansas. Katie and her kids reside in East Orange County with a small zoo of rescued cats and dogs.
