Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism shined a light on the assets offered in the region to get media attention during COVID.

Florida is synonymous with tourism and travel. But when the state was shut down during the pandemic, it was necessary for this industry to shift gears in areas that had the ability to do so. Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism successfully set the example. Hear from Executive Director Peter Cranis about how he and his team shined a light on the assets offered in the region to get media to talk about this news.

About Our Speakers:

Peter Cranis is the executive director of the Space Coast Office of Tourism since March 2019. Determined to work in the tourism industry as a marketing/communications professional, he’s held positions as the director of marketing for the AAA National Office, followed by a 16-year tenure at Visit Orlando as vice president of global consumer marketing, managing 40 staff members, a $25 million marketing budget and $14 million in attraction ticket sales. On the Space Coast, he manages a team of 16 people and a $40 million budget. Additionally, his 30-year career also include marketing, sales and PR for Church Street Station, Sprint Telecom, SunTrust Banks, and global bank software firm Kirchman Corp. His passion is marketing, tourism, the beach, and Brevard County where he has lived for past 14 years.
