It’s hard to believe we’re already in June.

This month, we’re proud to partner with our friends at FPRA Orlando for Central Florida’s Media Mashup 2022, a half-day professional development conference on Thursday, June 16 at Ace Café Orlando. In addition to networking opportunities with journalists, we’ll host several breakout sessions that focus on the future of media, communications and public relations.

As we head into the second half of the year, our board has particularly been in conversation on how best to support our members with tough conversations regarding diversity, equity, inclusion and justice.

Buffalo. Uvalde. Reproductive rights. Pride Month. Juneteenth, and so much more.

These are not easy topics, but sometimes we need to get comfortable being uncomfortable.

As communicators, we are uniquely positioned to help our organizations navigate these discussions. And beyond the professional setting, sometimes we need the space to process how an event impacts us personally.

This letter doesn’t serve as a statement, but rather a call to action. We welcome your feedback on how we can better serve, support and stand alongside our members.

Change begins with intention. And we want you to be part of that conversation.
