Position Description

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years or more professional experience in this field or related field
  • Experience in social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Experience coordinating and managing special events, projects, and/or programs
  • Experience in communication, organization, delegation, collaboration, and customer service skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of non-profit or public education programs and procedures preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise initiative, use excellent judgement, and manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Ability to organize facilities and details like décor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment and promotional materials
  • Experience with computer software to create brochures, flyers, posters, PowerPoints

Position Goal:

To plan, implement, and monitor the school district’s Social Media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts, and promote community engagement.

Performance Responsibilities: 

  1. *Organize, help promote and execute special events and community outreach projects (open houses, school fairs, school expos, Teacher of the Year banquet, United Way events, partnership projects).
  2. *Implement and manage social media
  3. Build audiences through modern social
  4. Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and
  5. *Help with the development of marketing and public relations strategies and
  6. *Work collaboratively with department colleagues, public relations personnel, social media and
  7. Recommend and implement
  8. *Create, edit and/or proofread copy for a variety of purposes (e.g., announcements, press releases, posters, letters, invitations, brochure copy, etc.).
  9. *Assist with the coordination of all facets of internal and external
  10. *Daily social media posts for district-run pages and oversees school accounts.
  11. *School Messenger knowledge and
  12. *Lead coordination of and support/attend district events, including school board meetings as
  13. *Serve as a member of the Emergency Response
  14. *Supervise designated personnel, including selection, training and performance
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director, Community

  10. Repetitive Motions - Substantial and continuous movements of the wrists, hands, and/or
  11. Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken Those activities in which detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed accurately, loudly or quickly.
  12. Hearing Acuity - The ability to perceive speech and other environmental sounds at normal loudness
  13. Visual Acuity - The power to see at a level that allows reading of numbers and text, operation of equipment, inspection of machines, etc.

Working Conditions (conditions the worker will be subject in a position)

  1. Indoors - The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
