Here's how a(n) Senior Communications Specialist for our Orlando office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Leads PCL’s portfolio of internal and external communication activities, products, and initiatives and project communications strategies.
- Communicates complex and technical items through written communication that are tailored to the right audience and recommending communications mediums.
- Provides superior editing and proofreading support with the ability to identify business priorities.
- Creates measurable internal and external communications plans for mid-size to large projects. Coordinates and manages the resources and change management process to ensure success.
- Partners with top clients’ communications professionals on external communications. Extends the relationship task-force zipper to include communications professionals of key clients.
- Collaborates and partners with clients on social media and identifies and manages risks on social media.
- Monitors local media-relations efforts and responding to crisis communications.
- Leads high-risk, complex, or multifaceted events that involve multiple stakeholders and require consensus building.
- Coaching, training, mentoring, and supervising direct and indirect reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or equivalent.
- 7 years of progressive experience in a communications role.
- Ability to create, execute and manage a communications plan and has an understanding of communications mediums.
- Ability to research, analyze, and organize information accurately and effectively and interpret data analytics.
- Ability to understand the company’s business objectives and effectively apply them.
- Demonstrates advanced critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and risk mitigation skills.
- Superior editing and proofreading skills with the ability to identify business priorities and potential sensitivities.
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills with the ability the influence stakeholders and communicate key technical information in plain language for consumption.
- Ability to effectively apply visual communications assets in alignment to PCL’s visual brand identity.
- Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other communications software with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
