Description

UCF’s Strategic Communications team seeks a Manager, Student Success Communications, to support the university’s student success and well‑being priorities. This highly collaborative role is embedded within the Division of Student Success and Well‑Being (SSWB) and works in close partnership with central communications colleagues to develop coordinated, student‑centered messaging that strengthens understanding of academic requirements, elevates awareness of support resources, and helps students stay on track to graduate. The manager translates university policies and initiatives into clear, accurate, and actionable communications, making them understandable for students and ensuring consistency with institutional standards. Through ongoing collaboration with divisional leadership and cross‑campus partners, the position ensures that messaging is timely, aligned, and supportive of both organizational goals and the holistic success of UCF students.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and coordinate student-centered communications aligned with UCF priorities that translate complex academic policies, processes, and resources into clear, accessible messaging across many internal channels, including online. Areas of emphasis will include orientation, registration, career readiness, and students' well-being, with an overall focus on supporting student retention and on-time graduation.
  • Create and keep up to date an annual calendar of institutional student-facing communications and develop templates and workflows to ensure timely delivery, consistent voice, and adherence to brand and accessibility standards, while monitoring and analyzing engagement metrics to improve effectiveness and reach.
  • Collaborate with campus partners (such as advising, academic success coaching, Student Care Services, Registrar, IT, and University Brand and Marketing) to align messaging and reduce communications overload for students.
  • Develop content for university and Division of Student Success and Well-Being priorities, and coordinate the distribution of select electronic communications, including the divisional newsletter and student emails.
  • Support issue and crisis communications related to student success and well-being, under the direction of senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:

We welcome candidates with any of the following experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic communications and the ability to translate priorities and initiatives into clear, actionable messaging.
  • Experience planning, writing, and producing recurring internal communications such as newsletters or regular organizational updates.
  • Experience developing practical communication plans that support organizational goals and timely execution.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to tailor tone, voice, and content for various internal audiences.
  • Experience producing communications across multiple formats, including professional emails, web content, newsletters, and other internal updates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, for developing presentation materials.
  • Ability to work under pressure; meet tight deadlines; and deliver accurate, high‑quality communications.

Additional Application Materials Required:

  • Resume.
  • Letter of interest.
