Kids House of Seminole, Communications Intern

Kids House is nonprofit child advocacy center in Seminole County dedicated to preventing child abuse and helping child abuse victims and families by providing coordinated services in a safe, child-friendly environment from report and investigation through treatment and resolution.

Our Kids House Communications Intern will work with staff and volunteers on digital, promotional and event media to create brand awareness of Kids House. They will also help develop local communication initiatives, website and social media content, and assist in the creation of promotional materials.

• In-person position (address 5467 N. Ronald Reagan Blvd. Sanford, FL 32773, US)
• Days/hours: Two to four days a week; Willing to work with school schedule; looking for someone to come for a few hours at a time, for example 9am-1pmor 12pm-4pm.

Duties include:

• Assist with development of creative concepts and marketing strategies for promoting the work of Kids House
• Data entry and management of donor information
• Develop content for promotional materials including electronic newsletters, web site and social media
• Help create and implement a social media content calendar
• Foster relationships with local media and help draft press releases and reach out for event marketing and brand awareness
• Manage photo and video content

Preferred skills:

• Possess skills at initiating innovative ideas and judging correctly what will appeal to target audiences
• Exceptional writing ability and experience with writing stories
• Ability to collect and synthesize information from diverse sources
• Must be creative & resourceful
• Must be able to multi-task
• Knowledge and experience with Twitter, Facebook,  LinkedIn, Constant Contact, etc.
