Engages with a diverse team in person, online, and over the phone to independently identify and draw out “stories”—which may be visual, auditory, or written—from faculty, staff, scientists, students, alumni, and stakeholders. Prepares material for release to a broad spectrum of audience-appropriate communications media, including UF/IFAS Communications, UF, and external press, internal and external newsletters, future students, trade publications, and social media. Provides advice and expertise on media formats to ensure clarity and accuracy of the communications initiative. Submits or publishes content to appropriate media outlets using the correct style. Maintains and updates social media and web presence(s) to increase relevant traffic, engagement, and edge-rank scores. Responsible for management and maintenance of the SFFGS website.
Designs, develops, and disseminates a variety of digital and print materials (e.g., flyers, posters, SFFGS newsletters, website content, etc). Updates, maintains integrity and consistency of publicity materials in conjunction with School staff, administration, and collaborators. Coordinates additions to and development of SFFGS website.
Assists School Director and administration in planning advertising campaigns, written and oral outreach materials, and other duties as assigned.
Assists with or manages event planning and coordination. Backup for Administrative Assistant during times of overload or absence.
Photography and videography, including planning/coordination of shoots, collection and organization of media, and selection and editing of high-quality photos for use in media.
