About this role:
Grace Medical Home is seeking a creative and driven Communications Intern to support our marketing and communications efforts. This is a hands-on opportunity to develop storytelling, social media, and content creation skills while making a meaningful impact in the community. The Communications Intern will work closely with the Community Engagement Director to implement strategies that enhance awareness and engagement with Grace’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Storytelling & Content Creation: Craft compelling patient, volunteer, and partner stories to illustrate the impact of Grace’s mission.
- Social Media Management: Update and maintain Grace’s social media presence, including daily monitoring, posting, scheduling, and reporting across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Marketing & Campaign Strategy: Provide input on creative marketing strategies and social media campaigns to engage key audiences.
- Email Communications: Assist in planning, writing, and managing e-blasts and e-newsletters to donors, volunteers, and supporters.
- Graphic Design & Branding: Design event flyers, program materials, and other marketing assets. (Adobe InDesign and Photoshop skills are a plus!)
- Website Management: Update Grace’s website via Squarespace and Wufoo (training provided).
- Editorial & Event Calendar Management: Keep track of key deadlines, initiatives, and events to support cohesive messaging.
- Collaboration & Innovation: Work with staff on new marketing and communication initiatives to enhance outreach efforts.
Who Should Apply?
We’re looking for a proactive, creative, and detail-oriented intern who is passionate about using communication to make a difference. Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong familiarity with social media platforms and trends.
- Completed or currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Previous experience in marketing, communications, or public relations (internship or coursework preferred).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or video editing software is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, website management, or graphic design is a bonus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Enthusiasm for nonprofit communications and a desire to contribute to meaningful projects.
