Position Summary

The Associate Manager, Communications is responsible for contributing to the strategic development and execution of internal communications plans under the direction of the Director. This position is responsible for managing materials creation and dissemination across channels for the Restaurant Support Center, including company Intranet, digital and print signage and email, as well as acting as a strategic partner to Operations, IT, Human Resources and other key departments to coordinate messaging, channel usage and distribution schedules. The Associate Manager is also responsible for managing the company’s Community Relations program, including reviewing and responding to requests and facilitating the fulfillment of sponsorships and contributions.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and distribute internal communications with a strategic focus on messages that educate, inform and motivate employees with clear, diverse content that reflects our core values and drives engagement
  • Lead development and distribution of Navigator News, including annual messaging strategy, editorial calendar development and management, bi-weekly story sourcing, development, editing and publishing (both the RLMail newsletter and Navigator intranet)
  • Write and produce annual print edition of Lobster Tales Special Edition celebrating Great People as well as video production for Team Members of the Year
  • Create and maintain digital signage and print signage in Restaurant Support Center break rooms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop and distribute timely, actionable communications with a consistent message
  • Manage the execution of the company’s Community Relations strategy in a way that elevates our employer brand proposition and builds pride, engagement and cohesiveness across both the Restaurant Support Center and field
  • Help plan and execute meetings for the Restaurant Support Center, including monthly First Friday meetings and annual holiday gathering, with a robust editorial calendar designed to share and reinforce key business objectives
  • Implement employee surveys to improve content quality and to provide insight and recommendations on strategic objectives
  • Support external relations special projects

 

Required Technical Skills

  • Prior experience working with a web or intranet content management system (e.g. Sharepoint).
  • Highly skilled in written and oral communication
  • Strong project management skills
  • Sound judgment and ability to make decisions and work within deadlines in a fast-paced business environment
  • Experience working in and with cross functional teams
  • 4+ years of working experience

 

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing

 

Other Key Qualifications

  • Proven ability to create and implement internal communications
  • Corporate presentation development experience
  • Event management experience
  • Related industry experience in digital marketing, web editing, content management and / or the use of social networking tools to promote business objectives
  • Strong affinity and passion for community relations and desire to participate in community activities
  • Experience working with Photoshop or other design programs
  • Experience working with Animoto or other video editing platforms
