During Women’s History Month, PRSA will feature prominent female PR business owners for a candid conversation on being a PR Power Player in Central Florida. Whether you are working for someone or yourself, this stellar panel will discuss how to keep yourself motivated in your role and the importance of being a self-starter in the ever-changing landscape of PR, crisis communications and marketing in Central Florida.

Michele Plant Kroupa | Moderator:

Michele Plant Kroupa is the founder and president of Michele Plant Communications, specializing in public relations efforts at local, regional, and national levels. With over 30 years of experience, she has led successful campaigns for organizations such as Vicious Biscuit, Harbor House of Central Florida, International Diamond Center, Disney Sports & Recreation, Tijuana Flats – and many more.

Before launching her firm, Plant Kroupa held senior roles at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Heart of Florida United Way. Michele received her B.A. in advertising and public relations from the University of Central Florida and serves on the advisory board for UCF’s Nicholson School of Communication.

Cristina María Calvet, MBA, APR | Panelist:

Cristina, founder and CEO of Wonderland, is an Orlando native and two-time UCF graduate with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, an MBA, and an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR). She established Wonderland to redefine the traditional marketing agency model with a focus on strategic thinking and exceptional client service. Cristina and her team provide a range of services, including traditional media assistance, issue management, community relations, influencer and social media marketing, Hispanic marketing and reputation management, with recent expansion into Canada. As the first U.S.-born generation of a Cuban family who arrived in Orlando 50 years ago, Cristina’s success reflects the city’s diverse cultural spirit. A dedicated marketer, networker, volunteer, and community advocate, she’s also an avid traveler, foodie, and passionate UCF Knights fan, often cheering them on with her daughter, Saoirse.

Jennifer Regen Bisbee, APR, Fellow PRSA, is an award-winning public relations and marketing communications professional with four decades of experience serving globally recognized brands, industry-leading organizations and entrepreneurial startups. She is president of Bisbee and Company, Inc., an Orlando-based public relations and integrated marketing communications firm with national capabilities founded in 1995. Bisbee’s agency is also the Central Florida and Tampa Bay network affiliate of the PRConsultants Group (PRCG), an exclusive nationwide network of award-winning, senior-level public relations and communications consultants working in every sector of every major U.S. market. Bisbee is a nationally accredited member of PRSA, a member of its College of Fellows, and a past president of its Central Florida chapter. Wendy J. Roundtree, APR is the Founder and Lead Strategist of Jarel Communications, a social impact firm that helps purpose-driven organizations amplify their impact through strategic communication and public relations. Under her leadership, the firm has worked with clients across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, specializing in K-12 education, food insecurity, health equity, and homelessness. Her accolades include PRSA Sunshine District’s Trailblazer Professional of the Year, Orlando Magazine’s Women of the Year, and Orlando Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, among others. Deeply engaged in the community, Wendy serves as Vice Chair of the Joe R. Lee Boys & Girls Club Board in Eatonville, Fla.
