Position: PR Account Manager

At Plan A, you will benefit from working with an established, reputable B2B marketing firm that specializes in hospitality technology, hardware/software, security and FF&E hotel product suppliers and manufacturers around the globe.

As PR Account Manager, you will assist the president and Director of Client Communications in planning and executing public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for our clients and the agency. You will be responsible for interpreting our clients’ strategic marketing plans through public relations and publicity efforts, as well as implementing our full-service advertising, branding and marketing solutions that are tailored to each client.

Reports directly to the president


  • Use all appropriate media and communication channels to secure positive media coverage for the agency’s clients
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with media representatives, editors and internet bloggers
  • Maintain current database of media contacts and editorial opportunities for each agency client
  • Meet / conference call regularly with clients to update them on project status and make any changes/new initiatives deemed necessary 
  • Direct the creation and implementation of all public relations campaigns, programs and publicity activities for agency clients
  • Write, review and/or edit press releases, white papers, product listings, award entries and ghost-written articles for agency clients
  • Distribute press releases and follow up with editors to secure media placement
  • Plan and coordinate any necessary press conferences and media advisories
  • Meet weekly with the president and other agency personnel to coordinate and update status of all client projects
  • Open and track all projects within the agency’s production management program
  • Coordinate internet postings and track web media mentions of clients and their products
  • Generate client clip reports and PR summaries on a monthly basis
  • Supervise publicity writer(s) and public relations interns
  • Maintain current computer/Internet skills related to public relations department daily functions

Required Experience:

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Minimum 2 years public relations experience (agency experience much preferred)
  • Experience in technology and/or hospitality industry PR a plus
  • Foreign language a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of clients and tasks efficiently
  • Demonstrate client relations and media relations expertise
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in the use of social media and Internet research
