Summary/Objective:

USPTA seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist with the marketing and communications department. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of the communications field, while taking the lead on transferring historical files to a digital archive.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Primary focus will be the digitization of USPTA historical documents, including but not limited to ADDvantage magazine, historical photographs and USPTA records
  • Updating the new USPTA website, scheduled to launch in mid-2018
  • Editing and proofing of USPTA materials
  • Other duties as assigned by management

 

Qualifications:  

  • Currently enrolled student working towards a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, Marketing/Communications, or Public Relations)
  • Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus
  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • An effective communicator, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Enthusiasm for the sport of tennis

 

 

Start Date: Internship will start in May and go through August 2018 (dependent upon college schedule).

 

Hours: 20 hours/week or more as required by college degree program

 

Compensation: This is a paid internship paying $11 - $12 per hour
