Position Description: The Account Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to manage and supervise Allied’s Public Relations client accounts within his/her practice as an extension of the practice leader’s oversight and direction.  This entails attending all meetings and calls, and generally ensuring that the agreed upon client strategy is being managed, that documents are kept current and shared with the teams involved, that PR timelines are and communications plans are being followed and that all earned editorial is being collected and reported on accurately. In addition, the account supervisor must demonstrate a commitment and ability to manage and develop staff, monitor and control budgets when necessary, participate in the Agency’s Think Tank Committee and cultivate new client opportunities through new business efforts.

  Responsibilities: Client Relations • Formulate (in conjunction with leadership team), long-term strategies and programs to position clients within the best space possible in order to elevate their brand awareness • Prepare and/or review all programs, plans, proposals and other major written materials before they are submitted for review • Develop innovative programs for clients and expand the existing programs • Stay current on client industries through a variety of tactics including devouring relevant news outlets and sources, and generally staying on top of our industry to provide trend-forward story ideas and other relevant thought-starting ideas to the client • Act as senior level client counsel and maintain two-way communications • Anticipate potential problems with clients and junior staff before they become issues • Ensure activities on behalf of clients are executed within budget estimates and without any errors on the agency side (typos, grammar, dates, etc.) • React to crisis situations by informing the Director or the SVP/VP and assisting, where appropriate, with program implementation • Manage and facilitate high-level media placements within national and regional outlets • Develop social contact with client personnel to strengthen the client relationship • Continue to expand knowledge of the clients’ business and industry, and stay current on relevant media contacts and outlets in general • Gain the confidence of the client and the clients’ internal teams so that become comfortable with you as a direct contact for the agency Account Service • Work with AIM’s executive team to develop and manage account overview as it relates to strategy, billable hours (staffing) and overall budget KPIs • Oversee junior level staff as it relates to writing, media relations, reporting and overall client interaction • Search for opportunities to develop additional business from existing clients (through AIM’s network of services) as well as developing new clients through networking • Write proposals for new business presentations in tandem with AIM’s executive team • Constantly review the activities of the account executives and other staff for performance, productivity and development • Develop a spirit of teamwork and high morale among people working under your direction • Continually challenge the staff to remain creative and forward-thinking by taking an active role in AIM’s PR Think Tank discussions and/or other tools needed • Review plans/proposals/press materials, major copy, and edits prior to submission to clients and media • Keep management informed of pertinent activities and potential problems  Staff Development • Work with AIM’s executive team to schedule staff workloads to maintain agency-established standards for trackable hours as a way to ensure maximum client profitability • Routinely train the staff through direct supervision and oversight, providing immediate feedback when necessary, and keeping track of the staff’s overall development and goals • Communicate with the Director, SVP and/or VP on a regular basis about individual staff performance • Conduct yearly staff evaluations and annual goal setting overviews/development planning as spearheaded by the agency’s VP Agency Development • Demonstrate the ability to market and sell additional agency services (digital, social, media, influencer, multi-cultural, etc.), and develop a thorough understanding of the services offered by AIM and its digital arm, 87AM • Identify marketing opportunities created through business and social contacts and participation in industry and civic organizations • Expand services provided to existing clients by identifying client needs and gaining client confidence • Participate in new business development acquisition by participating in all aspects of the process from networking, pitch deck writing, meeting and final oversight Personal Development • Develop trust and respect from clients and AIM’s executive team and other colleagues by demonstrating sound business judgment, leadership and writing skills and strong interpersonal skills with clients, associates, colleagues and media • Continually develop internal and external communication skills, gain industry expertise, and demonstrate independent problem solving and analytical capabilities • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills • Maintain a strong presence in the community through participation in industry, civic, or charitable organizations as a committee chairperson or speaker, to further solidify AIM’s reputation within the greater Central Florida market

Required: Requirements • BA/BS in Communications/Marketing/Public Relations/Integrated Marketing/Journalism or other relevant communications discipline • 7-10 years of comparable agency or corporate/in-house communications experience • Excellent media skills with relevant media categories, with a focus on hospitality, travel, food & beverage, etc. • Strong strategic and tactical planning skills with the ability to manage many projects and staff members simultaneously • Excellent writing and editing skills, with an emphasis on AP style, but also the ability to creatively express the clients’ products through releases and direct media pitches • Creative, strategic thinker with the ability to be nimble and react immediately in high-pressure situations with an eye for detail • Strong initiative, leadership skills and work ethic, always looking for better ways to be a colleague and team leader • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
